Jonathan Wang, PhD

Dr. Jonathan Wang has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare and biotechnology spanning entrepreneurship, investing, and scientific research.  A serial entrepreneur, he is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Miragene. He previously served as Chairman and CEO of Inmagene, which he founded in 2019 and led through a reverse merger in 2025. Earlier, he helped create Celexor Bio and incubated Bridge Laboratories (acquired).

In addition to his operating roles, Dr. Wang spent 22 years in healthcare investing, including 12 years as a partner at OrbiMed and as a founding partner of OrbiMed Asia, where he and his partners established and managed $1.1 billion in private equity and venture capital funds.

Dr. Wang has served on numerous boards, including ImageneBio (NASDAQ: IMA), InventisBio (688382.SS), Laekna (2105.HK), AngelAlign (06699.HK), Genwiz (acquired), and ForteBio (acquired).  He has been a member of the Biotech Advisory Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange since 2018.

He earned his PhD in neurobiology from Columbia University under Nobel Laureate Dr. Eric Kandel and holds an MBA from Stanford University. Beyond business and science, Dr. Wang co-founded and served as the founding Chairman of The BayHelix Group and is the author of two books on the philosophy of science.
